Mayor Frank Branston suffered an aortic aneurysm on Thursday (July 30) and was immediately transferred from Bedford Hospital to Papworth Hospital where he had surgery. Frank has been a leading figure in the town for decades. He was one of the founders of Bedfordshire on Sunday our award winning free newspaper, and he went on to become our first elected Mayor. Frank died on 14th August 2009, Rest In Peace.
