Bedfordshire Images: Wildlife

Black Lined Skimmer - Amazingly this was shot with the dragonfly on a stork in my left hand and a D200+macro lens in my right. This chap was in full courting colours when I snapped him at the Sandy HQ of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.	Probably the most conspicuous of our raptors, seen hovering almost everywhere.	A beautiful Large Red Damselfly rests at Priory Park in Bedford 2008.
A tiny Leaf Cutter Bee makes her home in my wall, she is carrying a leaf that she has cut from a nearby plant to line the hole with.	One of our pretty butterflies, the Orange Tip. You'd never guess by the name that it has orange tips to its wings would you?	Having escaped from its 'nymph' state this fly waits for its wings to dry before taking to the air.
The Nightingale, a Spring/Summer visitor to these parts from South Africa, what song, you could be in a jungle.	A young buck photographed at Woburn Park in Bedfordshire.	A Grey Seal pup at Donna Nook.
